Blitch has been working in the Gulf of Mexico for 27 years, and is the Director of Coastal andMarine Conservation for the Louisiana chapter of The
Nature Conservancy. He is heavily involved the recovery of oyster resources through restoration projects and policy and management engagement. He also
secures funding for, and manages natural infrastructure projects and the development and application of decision-support tools. Additionally, he works
with colleagues in the freshwater sphere to develop and implement projects that account for, and improve the connectivity among freshwater resources
and their impact to coastal processes and ecosystems. ..
